The game this week was 2-person teams playing Modified Alternate Shot with a Match Play format. The Plantation-Deer Creek match was extremely close, going down to the wire with the last foursomes to come into the club house. Plantation squeezed out a victory 10-8, leaving them at 2-0 for the year. Unfortunately for Oakridge, their match was not near as close in spite of the fact that they “earned” 1.5 points for their overflow golfers. Oakridge lost to Marshwood 12-7.5, leaving Oakridge at 0-2 for the year. Marshwood and Deer Creek are now 1-1 for the year. But all enjoyed the Brats & Dogs at the 19th hole along with their favorite beverages.
A shout-out to LMGA President Mike Barber for making the food arrangements and to Tom Seipel, Larry Brown and Tom Collins for handling our weekly beverages. And a huge shout-out to John Bellucci for continuing to organize our Thursday “outings”. But the biggest shout-out of all goes to the 85+ golfers – everyone was in the Clubhouse in under 4 hours: WAY TO GO GANG!
