Bouchillon-Ambrose Cup Match IV – April 19th

The game was 4-ball (two-man better ball) match play with each match being worth 2 points for the winner and halved matches worth 1 point for each team. Oakridge continued its winning ways from last month by beating Marshwood decisively 13-8 with 1 point coming from its 4 overflow players (Joel Kantor, Scott Happ, Gary Hobbs, and Dave Angell). Plantation also won decisively defeating Deer Creek by a score of 12-8. Given the format, no skins were played this week. But we have a clear winner for pace-of-play DFL!  Coming in way later than all of the other teams, the team of Tom Souls and Gary Hughes from Marshwood along with John Higgins and Joe Lovas from Oakridge “forced” all of the other players to hang around the scoreboard and have an extra beverage.

After 4 matches, Plantation has streaked into the lead with 3 points followed by Marshwood and Oakridge tied for 2nd with 2 points. Sorry, Deer Creek, but you are bringing up the rear with 1 point.

Dining at the scoreboard at Plantation, all enjoyed the brats and burgers along with the ice cold beverages at the 19th hole. And once again shout-outs to our LMGA folks who make this happen week-in and week-out: President Mike Barber for making the food arrangements; Tom Seipel, Larry Brown and Tom Collins for handling our weekly beverages; and Steve Skipper (standing in for John Bellucci) and Mike Munro for continuing to keep us organized in spite of many last minute changes.

So congratulations to the Plantation and Oakridge teams on their victories. And it looks like the early team to beat is Plantation. Don’t forget to sign up now for our next Thursday outing.
