The Masters Par 3 Event -- the first major event of the season for the Men’s Golf Association --was an organizational masterpiece and an impressive display of great shot making and short game skills. Moreover, the fun afterparty offered proof again that men can organize great social events even without the help of the fairer sex. The day featured beautiful spring weather and great support from area sponsors. Flight winners included Danny Nelson, Brian Rickenbacker, and Bob Murphy, and the runners-up were John Baker, Mike Barber and Tim Elliott. Nelson, showing the shot making skill that has made him a four-time Savannah City Amateur Champ, also captured 4 of the 9 closest-to-the-hole awards.
