While the day started cloudy and chilly, the folks who played were rewarded with sunny, pleasant weather toward the end of play. The game this week was 4-man team best ball where each team was required to take 1 or more net balls on odd holes and exactly 2 net balls on even holes. There were 2 Flights using the ABCD format for each foursome.
Easily winning Flight 1 by 4 strokes with a -24 was the team of Roger Belanger, Ed O’Donnell, Mark Rosenbaum, and Bob Meng. But Flight 2 was a nail-biter where the winning team of Bill Brunton, Bob Benson, Dan Malachuk, and Bob Hainly (blind) won by only 1 point with a -18 (sorry Steve Nazaruk, Hal Schmidt, Tom York, and Michael Morris – now if you had only made that putt…).
Regarding net Skins, there were a total of 7 Skins awarded with everyone being a single winner. And pace-of-play was good considering the weather and course conditions. So, no DFLs this week for pace-of-play nor for low score as all the foursomes were -12 or better.
So, congratulations to all our winners. And don’t forget to sign up for next Thursday’s play. It will be at Oakridge with 4-man team best ball where each team is required to take 3 net balls on greens with a red (front) flag, 2 net balls on white (middle) holes, and 1 net ball on yellow (back) holes. And as always, liquid refreshments will be provided at the 19th hole.
