The game this week was a 4-man team Stableford competition. The teams were flighted into A, B, C and D player flights.
Scores were all over the map with a huge difference of 42 points between the top winning team and the losing DFL team (more on them later) but no team was able to break “par” of 144. In the A Flight, scoring 133 points to squeeze out a 1 stroke victory, was the team of Rick Stark, Frank Schepis, Jeff Dorward, and Peter Quinn. Easily winning the B Flight by 20 strokes with a score of 135 was the team of Kevin Olson, Jeff DeHaven, Gary Howard, and Tom York. In the C Flight, the team of Bob Benson, John Bellucci, Peter Altman, and Richard Colvin won by 11 strokes with a score of 123. And in the D Flight with our high score of the day (139) and a 10-stroke victory was the team of Lee Sucharda, Mark Rosenbaum, and Bob Kaplan.
Regarding net Skins, there were a total of 6 Skins awarded with Mike Staman being the only double winner. Way to go Mike!!! Pace of play was great with all foursomes in by the 4-hour mark. And we are “happy” to announce that we had a clear “winner” for DFL. Coming in with a score of 97 (the only team not to make it to triple-figures) was the team of Bob Hainly, David Seeley, and Rufus Freeman. Looks like it was a tough day on the golf course for y’all.
So, congratulations to all our winners. And don’t forget to sign up for next Thursday’s play. It will be the first Bouchillon-Ambrose Cup match of the 2019 series. The game at Marshwood will be 2-man teams playing net better-ball with Marshwood playing against Oakridge and Deer Creek against Plantation. And as always for B-A Cup play there will be food along with the normal liquid refreshments at the 19th hole. Sign up soonest so that you don’t miss out on the fun.
