The game this week was a crowd favorite – Pick 6 Scramble where each team selected 6 tees from 3 different teeing grounds. There were 4-man teams with A-B players for Flight 1 and C-D players for Flight 2. A-B teams chose from the Tournament, Club and Course Named tees while the C-D teams used the Club, Medal and Skidaway tees. Play was a straight Scramble format with each player needing to use at least 3 drives.
In Flight 1, all 9 teams were tightly bunched from a low score of 55 to a high score of 61. Winning in a scorecard playoff with a score of 55 was the team of Andy Long, Kevin Brandon, Keith Krueger, and Peter Altman. Our “condolences” go out to the other team with a score of 55 which consisted of Grant Buchanan, Mike Munro, and Paul Hubert (now if only one of you had made that extra putt …).
Flight 2 was a bit more spread out with the scores ranging from 51 to 61. The team of Gef Fleming, Bob Banuski, Rufus Freeman and Michael Allen won with a score of 51. Close behind in second place with a score of 52 was the team of Mark Monson, Don Snyder, Tom Kunce, and Jeff Deluca (again, if you only had made that extra putt …).
Given the Scramble format, there was no Skins competition. And given the tightness of scores of all the teams, there was no clear DFL winner. But we wanted to give a SHOUT OUT to some new players for Thirsty Thursday. Craig Flynn and Andy Long joined us earlier this month while Jim Dwyer and Pete Kusek were new for this week. Welcome to LMGA and Thirsty Thursday play. And it should be noted that Andy has already joined the winning ways as he was on the winning Flight 1 team today. Way to go Andy.
