The game this week was two or more net balls on every hole. There were two Flights with four-man ABCD teams. In first place in Flight 1 with a score of -19 was the foursome of newcomer Ben Massey, Don Snyder, Herb Gallagher and John Palermo. John was the blind draw for the injured Jeff DeHaven who had to withdraw due to an injury he acquired doing too many “honey do” tasks at home. Hope you are on the road to healing, Jeff, and many thanks to John for his substantial contributions to the team. In Flight 2 with much less drama, the winning foursome was Greg Snyder, Eric Rosenstock, John Evans, and Rib Rubin with a winning score of -17.
There was no clear DFL “winner” as there were five teams with scores between -5 and -8 (done in by the fast Plantation greens?). Regarding Skins, there were 7 Skins that were awarded to 6 players with Mike Staman being the only double winner (way to go Mike!). And all foursomes were in at the scoreboard around 4 hours, so all the players deserve a big Shout-Out for pace-of-play!
Our first “1st Thursday of the Month” summer BBQ special was a huge hit. Great brats and dogs were cooked up by the Plantation staff to supplement our usual liquid refreshments. And a special Shout-Out to Larry Brown for the extra overhead coverage where folks could eat, drink and be merry in the shade (thank you Larry)!
