The game this week was 4-man teams that were required to take 2 or more net balls per hole. 60-ish golfers were split into 2 Flights. The winner of Flight 1 in a tie-breaker with a score of -21 was the team of Mike Barber (the team’s rock today?), Ron Monaco, Tony Lombard, and Tom Cloft (sorry Mike L’Hommedieu, John Higgins, Gary Howard, and Tom Lanahan). And with a -20 score, the Flight 2 winning foursome was Pete Quinn, Gary Daniel, Milo Moore, and David Brooks.
Not much this week for shout-outs. No single team broke away from the pack for DFL as there were several teams in the -6 to -9 range. And the same for pace of play as there was a group of teams that wandered in after the 4 hour mark. Meanwhile there were 7 Skins won by 7 different players, a number of which were won by net birdies (a far cry from Bill Wolod’s pre-round prediction that he would win 6+ Skins). And stay tuned for future Skin’s intrigue as there appear to be some budding rivalries in the making!
So congratulations to all of our winners. As a reminder, there will be no play next Thursday due to the Savannah Golf Championship where many of our LMGA-ers will be working as volunteers. See y’all again on Thursday April 5th when the weather should be warmer for our next Thirsty Thursday get-together.
