The game this week was a 4-man team Scramble where each team must “pick six” from 3 different tees. There was an A-B Flight and a C-D Flight who used the Tournament/Club/Course tees and the Club/Medal/Skidaway tees respectively.
With a contested win in Flight 1, the team of Greg Snyder (another Snyder???), John Marich, Charlie Bradford, and Barry Kumins posted a corrected score of -18 edging out their nearest opponent by 2 strokes. Lots of harassment about needing to correct their initial score of -19 but LMGA guidelines applied where having an enjoyable time trumps serious golf rules. But there was no contested score in Flight 2 where the team of Rick Cunningham, Kerry Fosse, Dave Waldradt, and John Evans had a score of -18, winning their Flight by 1 stroke.
Given the format, there were no Skins today. And there were no DFL shout-outs for last place as there were several foursomes in the -11/-12 range. But there is a DFL shout-out for pace-of-play to the foursome of Dave Breithaupt, Bob Gardner, Rick Cricenti, and Dave Angell who posted their score considerably later than the other foursomes. Although there was considerable protesting that they were held up by a group in front of them, the numbers are the numbers. And they had to accept responsibility for the fact that they “forced” the other Flight 2 players to hang around and have another beverage before finding out the results of their Flight.

As a reminder, there is no Thirsty Thursday LMGA golf on May 17th and May 24th due to the Spring Invitational and the “Be True to Your School Challenge” tournament (not too late to sign up via the Club; details are in the below Hot News posting). Our next Thursday outing on May 31st will be the May Bouchillon-Ambrose Cup match. Those who were previously registered for the 24th must re-register for the 31st. Food and the customary beverages will follow at the 19th hole.
