Thirsty Thursday Results – May 23

The game this week was 2 Flights of Best Ball where each four-man team needed to take two or more net balls.

The Flight 1 winning team of John Higgins, Mike Munro, Dick (Mr. Points) Higgins, and Rick Cricenti won handily with a score of 24 under par, beating their nearest competitor by 4 strokes. However, it was noted that they were the last group into the scoreboard and that their carts should have been searched for binoculars.

Not to be outdone in Flight 2, the team of Kevin Brandon, Ted Bumstead, Bradd Siegel, and Tom Kunce were runaway winners with a score of 33 under par, 10 strokes better than their nearest competitor. Kevin Brandon shot a near-career-best of 75 (more about him later), Ted Bumstead had a career best 82, and both Bradd Siegel and Tom Kunce had very good rounds. The handicap police are definitely checking the score postings on these 4 folks!

There was no outstanding DFL as there were a number of teams in the mid to high teens under par. And pace-of-play was good with most everyone in under 4 hours. There were 7 Skins awarded with Kevin Brandon being the big winner with 3 Skins. Way to go Kevin!!! And many thanks go to Mike McNutt and the Marshwood staff for an excellent job in supporting both the first 18 holes and the beverages at the 19th hole!

So, congratulations to all our winners. Next week Thirsty Thursday moves to Deer Creek where the event will be individual play using the Stableford Scoring System where there will be 1 winner from each Foursome. Sign up soonest to beat the rush!
