The game this week was 4-man teams who must take 2 or more net scores on every hole. Over 50 folks “braved” the weather conditions at Plantation where the teams were divided into 2 Flights with the teams comprised of A, B, C, and D players.
With a resounding 12 stroke victory in Flight 1, the team of Bob Schmidt, Bob Murphy, Bob Hainly, and Tom (not Bob) Lanahan crushed their competition with a score of -29! We definitely need the Handicap Police to check out these 4 individuals. Flight 2 was much closer with the team of Harold Huffstetler, Randy Hatch, Jim Golz, and Al Boyce winning by 3 strokes with a score of -20. In the Net Skins competition, there were 5 Skins awarded to 4 players with Herb Gallagher winning 2 Skins ( I know, shocking). Many of the Skins went to Net Birdies, a testament to the tough putting on the Plantation Greens.
We do have a major shout-out for all the foursomes – all were in on time so a great big “hats off” to all our players for great pace-of-play. Way to go teams!!! And for DFL, there is also a shout-out to the team of Paul Warhola, Gary Daniel, Steve Heacox and Stanley Berlin who managed to eke out a score of -6, 4 strokes off of the pace of the nearest competitor.

As a reminder, there is no Thirsty Thursday LMGA golf on May 17th and May 24th due to the Spring Invitational and the “Be True to Your School Challenge” tournament. But the May Bouchillon-Ambrose Cup match will be held on May 31st. Those who were previously registered for the 24th must re-register for the 31st. Food and the customary beverages will follow at the 19th hole.
