Thursday March 29th - Savannah Golf Championship

There was no LMGA play on Thursday March 29th due to the Savannah Golf Championship. We would like to take a moment to thank the dozens of LMGA members who volunteered their services throughout the week to ensure that this tournament was a huge success for the PGA and web.com tour, for the city of Savannah, and for the community and Club here at The Landings.

Special shout-outs go first of all to LMGA member Bob Lindenschmidt who unselfishly donated hundreds of hours to serve as the overall Volunteer Chairman who was responsible for overseeing all of the tournament’s volunteer efforts. Many thanks to Bob who can once again spend more time back on the golf course rather than in meetings. Gross-Skins participants beware that Bob Is Back!

Special shout-outs also go to LMGA members Don Sturtz, Randy Stolt, and Gary Lautzenhiser who were Vice Chairs that led the volunteer teams in the areas of course operations, scoring, and facilities respectively. Many thanks go to them and the legions of LMGA members who worked “in the trenches” to ensure that the Savannah Golf Championship was a memorable event for all. One such member who deserves a special shout-out is Rick Cunningham who was instrumental in getting the Web Cam up and running throughout the tournament at Schooner Cove on hole 5.

We resumed play on Thursday April 5th with our weekly Thirsty Thursday get-together; more on that in a separate post. And our 4th Bouchillon-Ambrose Cup match of 2018 will be on Thursday April 19th at Palmetto.
