The Landings Men’s Golf Association (LMGA) of The Landings Golf and Athletic Club (TLGAC) on Skidaway Island, near Savannah, Georgia, is dedicated to improving the golf experience of Club members. LMGA is the only club-chartered men’s association at the Landings. All adult male club members are eligible to join at all levels of play. Annual dues are currently $50 per year with your first year free. It is a great way to meet other guys and build long lasting friendships.
TLGAC is the leading golf community in the Southeastern U.S., offering six golf courses, four clubhouses, four practice ranges, three greens for chipping and sand practice, and more than a dozen PGA professionals on staff.
Weekly/Monthly Events
Find events that suit your interest and days you are available to play.
- Thursdays & Saturdays: LMGA arranges golf competitions in a variety of formats each Thursday and Saturday, rotating among the golf courses. Games change each week with a variety of teams and individual formats. Beer is provided at all Thursday events.
- Tuesday Scrambles: LMGA coordinates 9-hole scrambles with some of our TLGAC club pros, from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
- B-A Cup: Every month from January through October, the third Thursday is a match play event that is part of the year-long Bouchillon-Ambrose Cup (B-A Cup). Each member is assigned to one of four teams named after the four clubhouses – Marshwood, Palmetto, Oakridge and Deer Creek. On B-A Cup Thursdays, beer, soda and lunch is provided.
- Crouch Cup: Flighted 9-hole match play league over the course of the year with matches played 1-2 times per month.
- Inter-Club: The LMGA is a member of the Hilton Head Interclub League which organizes competitions among ten other regional private golf clubs. The Landings team won the championship for the 2021-2022 season.
Competitions are about competing, of course. But, just as important, they are about friends, comraderie, and enjoying the game. LMGA members carry handicaps from under 10 to over 20, with most playing between those two. Members can play from the tees they prefer—generally spanning Tournament to Course tees. Players can walk or use carts.
About half of the games are A-B-C-D team competitions and about half are flighted by handicaps. In individual games, players compete against others of similar handicaps.
Annual Events
- Player of the Year: LMGA holds a two-day championship culminating in a Player of the Year award.
- Annual Banquet: At the end of the year LMGA puts on a banquet with food and drink where the winners of year long events are recognized such as B-A Cup and Crouch Cup.
Other Activities
LMGA provides organizational support to The Landings Club staff for Club-wide golf events such as the Super Bowl Scramble and the Superintendent’s Revenge tournament. Members also support events such as the Landings Women’s Golf Association’s Together for a Cure, which raises money for cancer research and study grants for medical students and the L9GA tournament for Savannah’s Second Harvest food bank.
Membership
Membership in the LMGA is open to all male Landings Club golf members who are at least 18 years old.
