About The Landings Club Employee Needs Fund

In addition to having a good time and sharing fellowship with our other club members on September 14th, the Battle of the Sexes [register here] is also seeking to raise money for a very worthy cause, The Landings Club Employee Needs Fund. This is an opportunity for each of us to give back to our own in a way that will directly impact the lives of those who work for us every day. The Fund was started last year to provide relief to employees of TLC who are facing financial emergencies. These are extraordinary situations that are unexpected, but in all cases beyond the financial ability of the employee to resolve. The basics about the Fund are:

Administration: The Fund is administered by a committee that is appointed by TLC Board of Governors. The members of the committee are all current TLC members in good standing.

Purpose: Personal emergencies such as injury and accidents, car breakdowns, evictions, etc.

Application Requirements:

In order to accommodate an employee need, the employee will be asked to complete an application, “Landings Employee Needs Application” that addresses the following:

  1. The employee must have been employed for at least six months.

  2. Available to hourly and salaried employees who must be an active employee at the time need occurs.

  3. A copy of their valid state or government issued photo ID.

  4. A copy of their current lease (for renters) or a recent mortgage payment coupon (for homeowners).

  5. A copy of an invoice, estimate, or bill for the expense that the employee needs TLC Employee Needs’ help to afford.

  6. Only one request per person in a year (within the past 12 months) allowed.

Employee Needs Disbursement:

  1. Payments will be made to the creditor directly by The Landings Club.

  2. Payments will be netted after taxes. The amount given to the creditor on behalf of the employee will appear on the employee’s W2 for the year in which the disbursement is made.

  3. The approved application will be routed through Payroll to ensure proper tax deductions are made.

Sources of Funds:

1. TLC member donations

2. TLC employees are encouraged to contribute to the Fund via salary deductions and many are participating.

3. All net proceeds from the Battle of the Sexes will go to the Fund. Mulligans will be sold and there will be a raffle with all proceeds going to the Fund. In addition, each participant is encouraged to make a direct donation when registering for the event.
