Chip Beck Puts on a Clinic for LMGA members

Chip Beck, one of just six PGA Professionals to shoot a 59 in competition, visited the Landings Club this week.

Chip generously provided two clinics for LMGA members on the morning of March 6.  Over the course of 5 hours he went into great depth on the subjects of chipping and putting, concentrating on the basics of grip, body turn, wrist hinge do's and don'ts, and the latest thinking in teaching the up and coming golfer. He also discussed ways to deal with the reduced flexibility that comes with age, and ways to minimize stress on back and knees with the proper mechanics of the swing.

All in all, Chip's clinic was an outstanding success, with most of the attendees ready to hit the (soggy) links to try out their new found knowledge! Chip's an extremely engaging speaker with a wealth of knowledge; he's generous and insightful with his observations and tips for individuals, and even those who didn't get a chance for hands on instruction benefitted greatly from seeing the adjustments he prescribed for his students.

 Thanks Chip!!
