Cold Play Continues with Individual Stableford Round

This past week, 60 intrepid players showed up for another chilly round of Savannah winter golf in a game of Individual Stableford on the Marshwood course. Final point tallies ranged from the low 20s to upper 30s, with bundled-up golfers and morning temperatures that barely made it into the 50s, but there were few dropouts in what turned out to be a “hotly contested” match.

High scorer among the four Flights was Steve Thomas with 39 points, followed in Flight 3 by Scott Happ and Gary Hobbs with 37 points each. James Headley led Flight 2 with 37 points, while John Bellucci and Bernard Rosen both trailed with 36 points. Don Snyder also scored 37 points to win Flight 4, trailed by Phil Libby with 35 points and Mike Allen with 32 points. In Flight 1, Tom Hickey led with 35 points, beating Jeff Nibley’s matching 35 points in a card-off. John Garone finished in a close third place with 34 points.

Seven players came up winners in the Skins competition this week. They included Bill Delaney, Scott Ireland, Dave Martin, David Foley, Steve Thomas, James Headley and John Garone.
