LMGA Annual Tournament and Dinner
A Huge Success (Again)
On November 12th - 13th over 70 of our members came together to play a little competitive golf and enjoy fellowship, “man food” and casino gambling at LMGA’s Second Annual Members Golf Tournament and Dinner.
The Tournament courses this year were Oakridge on Day 1 and the more demanding Palmetto on Day 2, with the golfers competing for prizes and trophies in four separate flights: Championship, Club A, Club B and Medal. The Championship Flight was stroke play; the others, Stableford.
The Championship Flight winners were Rich Garcia (1st gross); Paul Gooden (2nd gross); Gary Lautzenhiser (1st net); and Ned Mahoney (2nd net).
Club A Flight winners were Larry (Leroy) Brown (1st) Tom Seipel (2nd); Club B Flight winner were Don Snyder (1st) and Bob Murphy (2nd); Medal Flight winners were Tom Lanahan (1st) and Gary Sunshine (2nd).
In addition, thanks to the generosity of our array of prize contributing sponsors, substantial prizes were awarded to those closest to the pin on the Courses’ par threes as follows:

Thursday evening, November 13th, jubilant but (mostly) gracious winners and
determined “wait until next year” losers re-convened at The Plantation Club to celebrate – or commiserate – with real “man food” (pulled pork, elk and bison sliders and fries), selected whiskeys and cigars, while further trying their luck at Blackjack or Craps with $20,000 of “funny money”. Scott Lauback and Gary Howard were the big winners.
But first, and fittingly, we honored and congratulated our Player of the Year, Bob Schmidt; Most Improved Player, Michael L’Hommedieu; Volunteer of the Year, Rick Cunningham; and our Founders, Mike Barber, Dave Breithaupt, Tom Crum, and Rich Marr. A new slate of officers also was elected for 2015; President – Rich Marr; Vice President – Bob Lindenschmidt; Treasurer – Larry Brown; and Secretary – Mike Staman.
