Sept. 1 Results: Lots of Skins Earned in Team Stableford Event

The team of William Delaney, James Headley, Don Snyder, and Paul Warhola Sept. 1 took 1st Flight first place honors in the Team Stableford game on the Deer Creek golf course with a score of 138 points. In second, with 135 points, was the team of Matt Heleva, Tony Lombard, Ed O’Donnell, and John Soron.

Atop the 2nd Flight was the team of Ted Bumsted, Lamar Crowell, Mike Morris, and Michael Peebles with 138 points. Coming in second was the team of Bruce Decker, Michael McCracken, Jeff Nibley, and David Ryan.

William Delaney won two skins with net eagles on the very difficult, dogleg left, par 4 13th hole as well as the slightly shorter, dogleg left, par 4 15th; Rick Cricenti had a net birdie on the 8th hole for a skin; Brian Harkleroad won a skin with a gross birdie on the short par 4 11th; James Headley had a net eagle for a skin on the par 3 3rd hole; Gary Mehes had a net eagle on the par 5 6th hole; Dean Philippo birdied the par 5 14th hole for a skin; Mike Towson had a gross birdie on the difficult par 4 dogleg left 7th hole; Rib  Rubin took in two skins with net eagles on the short par 4 5th hole and the par 3 17th.

Wednesday Scramble Aug. 31

In the final Wednesday scramble of the season, Oakridge Head Pro Eric “Mitch” Mitchell notched his third win, the most of any pro this season, with a 6-under 30, supported by teammates Jeff Gendelman, Bob Lynn, and David Panitch. Team Mitchell also claimed skins with unanswered birdies on holes 5 and 6. A third skin was earned with a birdie on the 9th hole by the team of Rick Colvin, Shawn Dyer, Mark Lastner, and Brian Stefan, after Stefan sank a 35-foot putt.
