Highlight Reel

Bob Gardner scored a net albatross with a good drive, a pitching wedge to 15 feet, and a good putt on hole no. 9, on which he received two handicap strokes…Jack Welch sank a 45-foot putt on the 1st hole for a birdie…Pete Quinn had what he called a “bark-ie,” on the par-3 12th. His tee shot hit a tree to the left of the green and the ball bounced to within a foot of the pin for a birdie.

Membership Notes

Jim Brown and his wife, Joy, moved to The Landings from Malvern, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia, when he retired after 30 years running an industrial distribution business. He became interested in golf while caddying as a young man at a club in Springfield, PA, which gave him playing privileges on Mondays. “As an athlete, I was intrigued by the difficulty of the game and the fact that good shots were infrequent,” he said. He joined Chester Valley Golf Club in 1984 and became serious about the game and began taking lessons from club pros. “As we age, our bodies change, and the game becomes even more challenging, but the intrigue remains.”
