The game this week was the crowd favorite Pick-6 Scramble where each team selected six tees from three different teeing grounds. A-B teams used six tees each from Tournament, Club, and Course Named tees while C-D teams selected six tees from Club, Medal, and Skidaway tees.
In the A-B Flight, the team of Andy Eastwood, Bob Hainly, John Higgins, and Tom Richards shot a round of 53 to win the Flight by 3 strokes. The C-D Flight was won by the team of Brian Mitchell, Donald McVay, Bruce Gingold, and Dan Malachuk with a score of 52 which was also 3 strokes better than their closest competitor. All-in-all, the field was tightly packed with all scores in the 52 to 60 range.
A big SHOUT-OUT goes to Brian Mitchell who holed out a natural Double Eagle on Oakridge #15 (Cenetery Hole) with a shot from the other side of the Marsh. Way to go Brian; certainly helped contribute to your team’s victory in the C-D Flight! And we had one new player today, Mark Dusek, who started his LMGA “career” with a 2nd place finish in the A-B Flight, helping his team finish with a score of 56! Welcome and way to go Mark!
And as always, a special thanks goes to the LMGA folks who continue to make these events huge successes while ensuring everyone stays safe and follows all the Corona Virus guidelines. Thank you, President Frank Schepis, for overall organization and Don Snyder for beverage service help in Frank’s absence; Tom Seipel and Steve Voss for handling our beverages; and John Bellucci, Steve Skipper, and Mike Munro for continuing to keep us organized despite many last-minute changes.
