Over 60 folks enjoyed the gnat-free gorgeous weather today at Oakridge. The game was a 2-net ball or more competition with 4-man ABCD teams split into 2 Flights.
In Flight 1, there were 3 teams tied at -21. Winning the scorecard playoff was the team of Kevin Olson, Gary Poleynard, Joe Lovas, and David Evans (sympathies go out to the other 2 teams, now if you just made that putt …). In Flight 2 the team of Greg Maloof, Ken Ura, Tony Lombard, and Tim Elliott won by 2 strokes with a score of -27. As there were multiple teams in the mid-teens under par, there was no clear DFL winner.
Pace of play was good with all teams in around 4 hours. Regarding Skins, there were 5 winners with no one winning more than 1 Skin. But noteworthy was that Mike Staman decisively won a Skin on #18 with a double Eagle – way to go Mike!!! Jeff DeHaven also deserves a Shout-Out for running the Skins competition this week and stepping through the results in a quick and decisive fashion. Thank you, Jeff!
So, congratulations to all our winners. Next week we play 4-man team Red, White and Yellow Best Ball at Magnolia where teams must take 3 net balls on holes with a red (front) flag, 2 net balls on white (middle) flag holes, and 1 net ball on yellow (back) flag holes.
