Thirsty Thursday Results – July 2nd

The game this week was a Pick-6 Scramble at Palmetto. 4-man teams were flighted with A-B and C-D players. Each team selected six tees from three different teeing grounds. The A-B teams used the Tournament, Club, and Course Named tees while the C-D teams used the Club, Medal, and Skidaway tees.

In the A-B Flight, there were 2 teams that shot 56. Winning the scorecard playoff was the team of Keith Krueger, Pete Quinn, James Dwyer, and Gary Wood. Sorry Mike Barber, John Palermo, Maurice Greene, and Tom Richards who lost the scorecard playoff; they just couldn’t sink one more putt! In the C-D Flight, the team of Ted Bumsted, Randy Gladden, Michael Allen, and Gary Mehes took first place by 2 strokes with a score of 53. Congratulations go out to all our winners!

But the big news was with the hole-in-one pool. Bill Bruton took it all home with a hole-in-one on Palmetto #12; from the Tournament Tees to boot. Way to go Bill; well deserved. A new hole-in-one pool will be started at our next Thirsty Thursday match. Bring $5 in cash.

And as always, a special thanks goes to the LMGA folks who continue to make these events huge successes while ensuring everyone stays safe and follows all the Corona Virus guidelines. Thank you, President Frank Schepis, for overall organization and beverage service; Tom Seipel and Larry Brown for handling our beverages; and John Bellucci, Steve Skipper, and Mike Munro for continuing to keep us organized despite many last-minute changes.

As a reminder there will be no Thirsty Thursday plan on Jul 9th, 16th, and 23rd due to course closures. But we will be back in action on Jul 30th at Palmetto when the 2020 B-A Cup season continues. Our first-place team Deer Creek will play second-place Plantation while the third-place Oakridge team competes against the DFL team Marshwood. The game will be two-man teams playing a Modified Alternate Shot match. Rumor has it that there will be burgers and brats in addition to our usual beverages. Sign up now so that you don’t get left out.
