To get back into the swing of things, the game was an LMGA favorite – the Pick-6 Scramble with 4-man A-B or C-D teams where each team selected six tees from three different teeing grounds. A-B teams used Tournament, Club and Course-Named tees while the C-D teams used the Club, Medal and Skidaway tees.
Both Flights ended up with similar scores. In Flight 1, the winning team of Jim Higbee, Rib Rubin, Bob Murphy and Pete Kusek took the honors with a score of 50. Two other teams were knotted at 51. High score for the flight was 57, certainly not in the DFL category. The Flight 2 spread was only 1 stroke greater at 8. The winning team was Bruce Bertkau, Bob Schmidt, Mike Munro, and Bob Benson with a score of 52. This team won over the 2 second place teams by 4. Players were raving about Bob Benson dropping putts from all over the green to help with the victory.
There was no Skins competition due to the Scramble format. And, as usual, Tom Seipel delivered the ultimate goods with the appropriate hydration for all.
